Royals edged Thursday night in Barrie

A ninth-inning comeback attempt fell just short for the Guelph Royals Thursday night in Barrie.

Trailing 10-6 heading into their last at bat, the Royals scored three runs before being shut down, as the Baycats won 10-9.

Keegan Marsden had a huge game for the Royals, driving in six runs on three hits that included a double and a triple.

Kingsley Alarcon, Tino Silvestri and Steve Saatz all had two hits.

Evan DiMichelle took the loss on the mound, surrendering seven runs on eight hits over five innings.

The Royals host the London Majors Saturday at 1 p.m.
