The University of Guelph Gryphons women saw their basketball season come to an end with a 55-43 loss to the Ottawa Gee Gees in Ottawa in the OUA quarter-finals.

Guelph trailed 24-11 at halftime and played most of the first half without all-star Kate MacTavish, who had to leave the game for repairs after being cut by an errant elbow.

MacTavish led the Gryphons with 14 points while fellow graduating senior Dana Van Balkom had 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
