Soccer Gryphons settle for bronze at nationals

Top two seeds met in bronze medal match

The Guelph Gryphons downed the Cape Breton Capers 3-0 in the bronze medal game at the Canadian university men's soccer championships Sunday at Alumni Stadium.

Midfielder Alexander Zis scored a pair of goals and goalkeeper Benjamin Caranci had the shutout.

Zis connected on a free kick in the 29th minute then struck again in the 51st minute.

Christopher Jacovou had the other goal for Guelph in the 86th minute.
