Storm and Otters go to shootout for the second straight night

ERIE, PA. – For the second night in a row the Guelph Storm and Erie Otters saw their game decided by a shootout Saturday night in Erie.

This time it was the Otters coming out on top, outscoring Guelph 2-0 in the shootout and winning the game 4-3.

Rookie Nico Daws started in net for the Storm, his first start in the OHL.

Erie jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, two of the goals coming on the power play.

The Storm rallied, eventually taking a 4-3 lead when Cam Hillis scored at 9:36 of the third period.

But Erie’s Alex Gritz scored at 12:05 of the third to tie the game.

Hillis had a great night, scoring twice and adding two assists. Isaac Ratcliffe and Dmitri Samorukov had the other Guelph goals.

Daws made 27saves.

The Storm hosts the London Knights Sunday afternoon in a 4 p.m. start at the Sleeman Centre.
