OWEN SOUND – Nick Chenard made 45 saves to lead the Owen Sound Attack to a 3-1 victory over the Guelph Storm Saturday night in Owen Sound.
Chenard save the best for last, stopping all 20 Storm shots in the third period as Guelph, trailing 2-1 entering the third, tried to tie the game.
An empty net goal by Gavin Bryant with five seconds on the clock sealed the win.
Guelph led 1-0 early on a Sasha Pastujov goal, his 15th of the season.
Stepan Machacek tied the game before the first period was over, beating Storm goaltender Jacob Oster on the power play.
Cedric Guindon put Owen Sound ahead 11:44 into the second period.
Oster made 30 saves for the Storm.
Guelph hosts Owen Sound on Friday.
