The Guelph Royals played their first home game at Exhibition Stadium in two years

The Guelph Royals played their first home game at Exhibition Stadium in a while Saturday, downing the Brantford Red Sox 10-4 behind the strength of five home runs, two each by Josh Garton and J.D. Williams.

Guelph sat out the last season due to COVID and the season was cancelled after one game the year prior.

Emilis Guerro earned the win, going eight innings and striking out five.

On Sunday the Royals fell 4-3 to the Kitchener Panthers. Guelph managed just four hits, two of them by Ethan Hammond, which included a double.

Nelson Mercado took the loss, allowing five hits and all four runs over six innings.

Guelph is 2-3 on the Intercounty Baseball League season and sits in fifth place in the eight-team league.

On Wednesday they host the first place Welland Jackfish (5-0).
