Top-ranked Gryphon women wrap up regular season with win

Guelph will meet Laurentian in best-of-three quarter final

The top-ranked University of Guelph Gryphons women wrapped up the regular season with a 3-2 win over the Brock Badgers Saturday afternoon in St. Catharines.

Mallory Young's goal at 13:14 of the third period proved to be the game winner after Guelph's Averi Nooren had tied it early in the period.

The Gryphs will now meet the Laurentian Voyageurs in a best-of-three OUA quarter-final.

Kelly Gribbons had Guelph's other goal and Valerie Lamenta made 26 saves in the Guelph net.

Guelph finishes the season with a 21-2-1 record.
