University of Guelph swimmer Evan Van Moerkerke swam to silver in the men's 200 metre freestyle on Day 1 of the CIS swimming championships Friday in Quebec City.
Van Moerkerke then teamed up with Eric Trevisan, John Carroll Phil Vranic to win bronze in the men's 4 X 100m freestyle relay.
Van Moerkerke's time of 1:47.57 in the preliminary heats of the 200m freestyle was a new Gryphon record.
The meet continues Saturday.
