Q: Where were you born?

I was born just down the road in Kitchener.

Q: What drew you to journalism as a career?

I admire the way journalism can connect people with their communities and wanted to be a part of that process.

Q: Any favourite spots in Guelph?

I like the Bookshelf in Downtown Guelph, but I also enjoy walking around the Arboretum at the University of Guelph.

Q: Best part of the job?

Learning about individuals and initiatives that really make Guelph a great place to live.

Q: Worst part of the job?

When a story falls apart due to a lack of credible sources for it.

Q: Cats or dogs?

I like both, but dogs are my favourite animal.

Q: Favourite binge-worthy show?

Bob's Burgers, every character on that show is great.

Q: Read much?

All the time! My goal this year is to read 21 books for 2021. So far, I am three books down with 18 more to go!

Q: Dream vacation?

I’d love to visit Australia or Iceland. Both places have beautiful landscapes, and I would spend the entire time outside, hiking around and taking pictures.

Q: Working from home. Good or bad?

Working from home has had its ups and downs, but I’m glad that it keeps me safe and that I can continue to do my job during the pandemic.

Q: Name something cool about Guelph?

I’ve learned of a story that Al Capone would visit Guelph and stay at the Albion Hotel. Speaking of the hotel, I’ve also learned it is the second place in all of Ontario to receive a liquor licence.

Q: If you weren’t a reporter you would be a …?

I would probably be the owner of a second-hand clothing/furniture store.

Q: Food that brings back childhood memories?

Banana chocolate chip muffins.

Q: What’s something you’d like readers to know about your job?

We appreciate every kind word we receive from readers, thank you!
