LONDON, Ont. — Lauren Taraschuk stopped all 17 shots she faced as the Manitoba Bisons shut out the Queen's Golden Gaels 4-0 on Friday in a quarterfinal of the Canadian university women's hockey championship.
Alanna Sharman and Lauryn Keen had power-play goals for Manitoba, while Courtlyn Oswald and Alexandra Anderson also scored.
Stephanie Pascal made 23 saves for Queen's.
The Bisons went 2 for 3 on the power play and the Gaels had no man advantages.
In Friday's other quarterfinal, Marie-Pascale Bernier and Sophie Gagnon had two goals apiece to lead the Concordia Stingets in an 8-1 rout of the St. F-X X-Women.
Keriann Schofield and Vyckie Gelinas both scored and added two assists for Concordia, while Lidia Fillion and Claudia Dubois chipped in as well.
Kate Gotaas replied for St. F-X.
The Saskatchewan Huskies face the Western Mustangs on Saturday afternoon in the first semifinal and Concordia and Manitoba meet in the second later that day.
