Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 6th, 2018, surrounded by his family, in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Shirley Ann Alexander (Jones).
Loving father of Cary Alexander (Catherine), Colleen Harron (Rick), Elan Alexander, and Craig Alexander (Mary Ann).
Jim was the adored grandfather of nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his brother-in-law Robert Rogerson.
He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Ethel Alexander, his sister Jean Rogerson, his sister-in-law Deanna Hughes (Jack) and brother-in-law Robert Jones (Georgina).
Loved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Jim’s passion for the outdoors was evident during their twenty years living at Myles Bay on the Bruce Peninsula. He treasured his time spent fishing and hiking the trails he loved to groom. After moving back to Guelph he enjoyed his daily walks through Riverside Park, cleaning up litter along the way.
He fought his cancer battle with determination, perseverance and with the love and support from his beloved family and friends.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Sunday October 21, 2018 at the Alma Community Centre, 51 Simpson Street East, Alma, Ontario from 1 - 3:30 pm.
