It is with profound sadness that the family of Michele (Mike) Anselmini announces his peaceful passing on November 19, 2017 at the age of 88.

Mike is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Vittoria Anselmini (nee Sorrenti). Survived by his loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – Cathy (Dan Bowmaster, Vikki, Chris, Krista, Ava, Ethan), Nata (Dave Scott, Tiffany, Kelsey, Eric Sinker), Artillio (Diana, Michael, Katrina, Raelynn, Kassandra), Paul (Patty, Nicholas, Jessica, Vincent, Allauren), Mary (Carlo Dinardo, Anthony, Alex), George (Linda, Myles, Tegan, Alex, Annabella), Natalina (Eric Gustavsen, Brett, Mitchell).

He is also survived by his brother Joe (Rose), sister Natalina (Arturo), Nunziata Luccisano, and Catina Carere, and predeceased by his sisters Victoria Belcastro, Angela Dawes, Concetta Anselmini, by his brothers Frank, Vincenzo and Paulo Anselmini, and by his parents Attilio and Catarina Anselmini (nee Furfuro). He will also be greatly missed by his many in-laws, extended family, and friends.

Mike was born in the small village of San Giorgio Morgetto, Calabria in 1929 and immigrated to Guelph, Ontario in 1957 for a better life for his wife and children. He had a love of fishing, wine making, and he was an avid gardener, growing many vegetables and grapes in his many gardens.

Friends and family are invited to meet with family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Tuesday, November 21st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with a vigil at 8 p.m. The funeral mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St., Guelph, on Wednesday, November 22nd at 11 a.m. Entombment, Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the charity of one’s choice. Cards are available at the funeral home (519-821-5077)
