ARTS, Beverly

Posted

It's with deep sadness that we announce the death of Beverly Clair Arts (née Daly) on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Beverly was born in Ottawa on February 24, 1942, and began her professional career as an office worker in Quebec and Ontario. She eventually specialized in Human Resources. Beverly and her husband Remi moved to Victoria in the early 1990s where she successfully continued in her professional life until retirement.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Remigius; her son Graham and her daughter-in-law Sandi Arts; her daughter Stephanie Cantin and son-in-law Richard. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren: Erik and Claire Arts, and Mélanie, Daniel and Noah Cantin who were truly her greatest joy. Nothing made her happier than watching her grandchildren participate in sports, dance, play music or just spend time together as a family.
Beverly was not your stereotypical mother or grandmother. She didn't love baking or knitting, rather, she preferred high heels, learning Spanish, YMCA workouts, coffee chats, a good red wine, swimming and travelling, and volunteering at école St-René-Goupil. Beverly also helped people achieve their career goals by volunteering assistance in the preparation of their resumés.
Beverly's bright blue eyes helped to convey her good humour and punctuated her quick wit. They also communicated her firm conviction, as her family will attest. But her smile and genuine warmth ensured that she made lifelong friendships wherever she went. Beverly will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Wednesday, November 30th from 7-9 p.m. Memorial Mass will held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph, on Thursday, December 1st at 10 a.m. Committal service at Woodlawn Memorial Park to follow.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts of sympathy, Beverly requested that donations be made in her name to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Doctors without Borders. Donations can be made at the funeral home or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
