Of Guelph, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 28 2019, in his 97th year. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 48 years, Edith Saloman Austin (nee Poechman). Loved father of Loreen Kelly, Dona Galloway and sons Calvin (Shirley) Austin and Rodney Saloman (Marylyn). Sadly missed by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Bernie Austin. Dearly loved by the Poechman family. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Elizabeth Austin (nee Sherriffs). James Evan Austin was a life-time member of the Speed Lodge 180.
Family and friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Sunday from 1-4 pm and Monday, March 4, 2019 one hour prior to funeral service at 11 am. Reception in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Center. Burial at Memory Garden. A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 4 pm. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
