Passed away, on Monday, January 23, 2017, as the result of an unfortunate accident. Beloved husband of Monica Bell, his high school sweetheart and partner in adventure for over 40 years. Loving father of Angela Verdone (Mike) and Melissa Murphy (Brian), his two girls he raised to believe that anything was possible. Proud grandfather of Stella and Perrin Verdone and Ciara and Maeve Murphy. Predeceased by parents Donald and Joan Bell. Sadly missed by siblings Peter Bell (Teresa), David Bell (Mary), Diana Purnell (Hugh), Doug Bell (Marilyn) and brothers-in-law Leonard Bayard (Lynne), William Bayard (Patty), Richard Bayard (Elaine) and Gary Bayard. Donald will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and also by many friends. Don Bell was an eternal optimist; the kind you thought only existed in fiction. He saw the best in everyone he met, and left everyone he encountered better than he found them. He had an infectious smile and a passion for life. He loved and was enthusiastic about everything, his family, cooking, business, sports, fishing, reading, you name it. He was always learning and loved exploring new ideas. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Monday, January 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, January 31st at 10 a.m. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by Donald’s family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home, or donations and condolences may be sent online, at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
