Of Guelph, passed away suddenly at Stone Lodge, Guelph on Saturday, February 25, 2017, in her 91st year. Verna has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Beloved wife of 56 years to the late Garnet R. Black (2000) . Loved mother to Eric (Jean) Black, Sharon (Craig) Varley and the late David Black (2015). Loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law to Ira and Evelyn Black and Ed and Marlene Larter. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Eric Smart (2016).
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Wednesday (2-4 p.m.) and on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11 a.m.. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Interment New Hope Cemetery, Cambridge.
