Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, on September 10th, 2016. Hugh was the loving husband of the late Donna Borthwick of 50 years (2015); and cherished father of Patty (Aldo) Di Ruzza, Betty Borthwick and Brian (Anita) Borthwick. Proud grandfather of Audrianna and Nicholas Di Ruzza, Krystle, Kaitlyn, Kathryn and Beck Anderson, as well as many great grandchildren.
Born on February 25th, 1943, in Glasgow, Scotland, to the late Hugh and Elsie Borthwick, Hugh worked in the financial industry most notably for the Royal Bank of Canada until his retirement. Hugh was well known for his love of Golf through both playing and officiating and will be remembered for his sense of humor. Special thanks to CCAC, the Guelph Renal Clinic, the Guelph General Hospital and Hospice Wellington for their care and compassion. As per Hugh’s request, cremation and private services have taken place.
