(April 23, 1925 - May 12, 2020)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Antonio (Tony) Bortoluzzi announce his peaceful passing at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph on May 12, 2020 at the age of 95.

He was predeceased by his wife Erminia (2013). Cherished father of Alex and Anne Marie (Mark) Baker. Loving and proud Nonno of Robert, Katie,
Sofia and Margaret. He was predeceased by all of his siblings in Italy - Alessandro, Celeste (Fulvia), Elisa, Giuseppe, Pierina and Pietro (Marta). He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law - Antonio and Giovannina Zanini, Ferruccio (Bush) and Evelina Boschetto, Luigi and Maria Silvestrin, Renato and Teresina Gritti and Emilio Boschetto. He is survived by his sister-in-law in Sudbury, Carla Boschetto, wife of Emilio. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

In 1952, newly married Tony and Erminia immigrated to Canada and lived in Sault Ste. Marie until 2011, whereupon they moved to Guelph to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

In Sault Ste. Marie, Tony worked at Bluebird Bakery and later at Algoma Steel. He was an active member of the Ital-Canadian community and a long term member of the Marconi Club. His proudest achievement was serving as the founding president of the Sault Ste. Marie chapter of the Trevisani Nel Mondo.

Dad was a kind and generous man who did all he could for the well being of his family and friends. During the time where the craft of wine making at home involved crushing grapes, he strived each year to improve the quality of his wine and believed he produced a really fine home-made vintage! He also enjoyed the fruits of his labor in the garden, especially his bounty of radicchio. He was competitive in playing cards and bocce and in later years, enjoyed going to the casino - always hoping to win big!

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph. A private family service will be held in the Chapel on May 19 followed by entombment at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided to our dad during the past six years. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation (100 Westmount Road, Guelph, N1H 9Z9) or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
