It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of John Botter announce his
passing at the age of 89 years, [at Hospice Wellington, Guelph] on
Tuesday, June 25, 2019. He will be dearly missed by the love of his life
for 67 years, Dorothy, whom he met while playing hockey for the Renfrew
Millionaires in the Senior Hockey League. Also left behind are son David
(Lori), daughter Christina (Keven) and son Gary (Melinda). He was the
proud Nonno of Madison (Taylor), Blake, Mitchell and Joel. John is
survived by many nieces and nephews and the Reynolds families. He was
predeceased by his father Primo, his mother Maria, his step-mother Carmel
and by his brothers Ardolino, Livio and Avelino.

John was a master carpenter who could take a pile of wood and create any
project people requested. He was a hard-working man of few words who
lived with integrity and class. John had a great love of baseball,
particularly, his beloved New York Yankees. He was also an avid hockey
fan, following the hometown Guelph Storm each year. He spent many a day
either collecting pennies, rolling them and putting them in the hidden
safe or chasing squirrels away. John also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles,
sitting for hours just to complete a difficult area and to find the piece
that fit into that spot.

The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Hospital staff and Dr. Campbell
for their care and support these last weeks of his life and to Hospice
Wellington for their care and kindness.

Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son
