Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Riverside Glen on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in his 82nd year.
Beloved husband of Svea Madeliina Bowie. Loved father of Scott (Anne) Bowie and Jim (Kelly) Bowie. Cherished grandfather of Lucas, Cameron, Liam and Andrew. Dear brother of Robert (Rose) Bowie. Will be missed by his much-loved cat Tuxedo.
Gordon was born in 1936 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He studied at McMaster University and the University of Toronto. He went on to be a Principal and Educator at Etobicoke DSB (now Toronto District School Board).
Gordon enjoyed spending many laughs with family and friends, cottaging and living on Lake Muskoka, traveling, sailing, skiing, hiking, amongst many other activities and interests.
A celebration of life will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated. Special thanks to the staff at Riverside Glen, especially Mapleton neighbourhood for the love and care they gave to dear Gord. They are all angels personified.
