Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at her home in Guelph on Friday, September 9, 2016. Denise "Neicey" (Routhier) Brazolot, in her 83rd year, was the beloved wife of almost 62 years to Peter Brazolot of Guelph. She was cherished by her 9 children: Peter and his wife Jan, Julia and her husband Gary Calverley, Larry and his wife Christine, all of Guelph, Carolyn and her husband Bruce Pollock of Ilderton, Suzanne and her husband Paul Glover of Oakville, Patricia Schütze and her husband Thomas Jörg Fechner of Kitchener, Cynthia and her husband Scott Millan of Ottawa, Dennis "Beau" (Debi Fraser) of Hudson, QC, and Elizabeth "Lila" Dempsey of Guelph. She will be greatly missed by her 30 grandchildren, her 2 great-grandchildren and by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Born in Stratford, ON to Albert and Eleanor (Georget) Routhier. Denise graduated as a registered nurse from St. Joseph's Hospital in 1954. She is predeceased by her brothers Albert (Kay) and Danny, and by her sisters Eleanor McCarvell (Bill), Thelma Mercier (Aurele), Dolores Clark (Vince), Delphine Hergott (Ab), Madeline Vezina (Bill), and Elaine Bolt (Johnny). She is survived by her sister-in-law Julie Routhier (Danny). Denise will be remembered as a strong supporter of the Basilica of Our Lady. She was a former President of the Catholic Woman’s League, and was the recipient of the CWL Maple Leaf Service Pin. Denise was a former member of the Bishop Macdonell High School Board of Governors. She was also a founding member of Holy Rosary Parish (50 years ago). Denise supported Peter in his many endeavors, as a Member/chairperson for his many Guelph businesses, charities, and organizations, and especially during his 10 years as a city Alderman. Family and friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Denise will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at the Basilica of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph, on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment in Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Basilica of Our Lady Building Fund, or to the Garden of Grace c/o the Guelph and Area Right to Life, would be appreciated by the family.
