Passed away peacefully, at age 93 years, at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday, March 30, 2018. She was the beloved mother of Anna Carr, grandmother of Ellen Carr (Pat) and great-grandmother of Amelia, all of Calgary. Isabel was predeceased by her husband Howard Carr (2010) and by her daughter Myra Williams (2018). Special thanks are extended to Isabels dearest caregiver, Maria Cameron. After a full life, including much international travel, Isabel threw herself into her new hometown of Guelph. She volunteered with a number of organizations including the GGH Auxillary Gift Shop and Meals on Wheels, but it was truly her work with the IODE that inspired her and those around her. Isabel made many brilliant friends through the IODE, who would come to offer so much support during her final months. Isabel spent a lifetime cultivating and maintaining dozens of friendships around the globe. Some of her happiest times, during recent years, were admiring her large collection of Christmas cards and remarking on how many countries were represented in the stamps. She will be deeply missed by her nieces (Rebecca, Catherine, Sandy and Susan) and nephews (Danny, Peter and Mark). Private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the funeral home Fellowship Lounge. Interment of cremated remains in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph, at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Guelph Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
