Passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the age of 84. Devoted wife of 59 years to the late Bill (2017), Marguerite (Marg) is survived by her sons, Dan (Heather) and Tim (Kari), sister Audrey Ford (Don) and close friend Angie Hunt (Jeff). ‘Gumma’ will be lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren: Rhiannon (Joe), Sam, Hilary, Benjamin and Connor.
Born on October 6th, 1933, Marg grew up in Welland, where she and Bill married before moving to Guelph in 1965. Having enjoyed a career in the medical field as a young woman in Toronto and subsequently in Guelph, Marg retired in 1998 to focus on her greatest joy, her family. Those who knew Marg will remember her quick sense of humour, contagious laugh, love of music (especially opera) and affinity for travel that included trips to Europe and winters in Arizona. A kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Marg’s close network of friends, devotion to her family, and strong faith are what defined her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate funeral mass at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma Street, Guelph on Wednesday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. Refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences at www.wallcustance.com.
