COLEMAN, Joyce

Posted

Of Guelph passed away at her daughter’s home, holding her daughter’s hand after a brief illness on January 13th. She will be sadly missed by her son David Doney (Kim) and her daughter Lane Aspinall (Doug). Her grandchildren Kari McCracken (Jeff), Meghan Lowry-Freitag (Shawn) and Arthur, Edward and Elizabeth Doney. Her grandchildren Madden McCracken and Grayson and Morghan Freitag. Predeceased by two husbands, Ted Doney (1965) and Dr. Lloyd Coleman (2006) and a ballfield of brothers and sisters.

Mom had 3 wishes upon her death: 1) Don’t put my age in the paper 2) Don’t have a funeral for me because most of my friends are dead, and 3) Miss me a little….but let me go.

As her daughter, I have spent many wonderful hours with my mom. I will mostly miss her sense of humour and the ability to make people laugh. My mom was down to earth and a very practical woman. I will miss her words of wisdom but most of all, I will miss the love and strong bond that we shared for each other.

I want to thank all of the organizations, who could not have provided any better care than they did for my mom…..Waterloo Wellington CCAC, the nurses at Bayshore Home Health, the PSW’s who work for Para Med and Medigas who brought supplies to us at any given time. I also want to thank Dr. Shafir for the respect and good care she gave my mom.
