Anna Coniglio

Anna Marie Coniglio passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 15, 2022 at Guelph General Hospital in her 76th year. She was the beloved mother of Rosemarie (Stephen), John (Jacqueline) and Daniel (Bree). She loved and adored her grandchildren Jaden, Tyla, Josh and Ethan as well as her grand puppies Ava, Bolan & Charlie and the late Bailey, Jake and Chance. Anna is survived by her loving sisters Rose (Mike) and Silvia (Tom) as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She is now with her late parents Grace and Salvatore Centineo in heaven.

Anna was a vibrant, loving and compassionate soul who lit the world up every where she went. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1954 from Palermo Sicily. Her family settled in Guelph, Ontario where Anna went to school and eventually became a hair stylist. At hair dressing school she met her children's father and soon after married. Together they opened a hair salon called "Milady Hairstyling" in Acton Ontario in 1967 and eventually added cool and hip clothing and changed the store's name to "AJ Place". When Anna became a single parent in the 1980's she made the decision to become a real estate agent and worked with Skov and HomeLife Realty.

When Anna retired she had many hobbies and crafts to keep her busy. She was a very talented seamstress and also loved to knit and crochet many beautiful blankets and items we will cherish. The most happy years of her life were spent with her grandchildren baking cookies and doing crafts. She loved music and parties and concerts. Her youthful spirit was always a joy to be around and she was very much a part of her children's social circle. It's just not a party without our mom. In 2009 she took an epic trip back to Sicily with her daughter to visit the place she was born and to visit her beloved Zia Lina and her cousins. Recently, Anna also loved travelling to the Dominican Republic and made annual trips there to ride out our Canadian winters.

Anna will be remembered always for her compassionate and loving heart. Her acts of kindness and love are her legacy. Helping others is what made her happy. If you can, please continue her path of kindness and do something today to help another in her honour.

On Thursday June 23, 2022 we will have a celebration of life for Anna at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son, HART CHAPEL (1099 Gordon St. Guelph N1G 4X9). Cremation has taken place. Our family will receive guests from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm. At 7 pm we will move from the visitation room to the chapel (in the same building) for a tribute to Anna with words, pictures and song. If you will be attending the 7pm tribute, please ensure you are there and seated prior to 7pm to avoid any interruptions (Thank you).

Anna loved her community so if you'd like to make a donation in her honour, please consider Hope House Guelph. It is a community funded charity (with no government support) that aims to overcome poverty and help those who are in need.
