Suddenly as a result of a car accident on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the age of 40. Dear son of Lucy Dunlap. Cherished grandson of Jim & Darlene Mahaffie and the late Olive Pearl Dunlap. Survived by his biological mother Lorraine Nelson and his brother Tom Courtney. Predeceased by his father Timothy James Mahaffie (1988). Remembered by Shannon Arsenault and her children. Matthew will also be greatly missed by his many cousins, aunts other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gilchrist Chapel - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi St., Guelph on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Matthew in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com.
