Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at the age of 76, with her loving husband and best friend of more than 55 years, Glenn, at her side after a long battle with cancer.
Loving mother to David (Kimberly) and Craig (Cheryl). Proud Grandmother to Hailley, Aiden and Tanner. Will be missed dearly by her close cousins Barb Grasel, Marilynn Yeikowski and Doreen Brown who grew up like sisters, and brothers in law Ralph (Rosemary) and Lorne (the late Judy). Loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and all her good friends that she gained over the years.
She devoted her life to the Royal Canadian Legion, for over 50 years with Branch 3 in Toronto, Branch 442 in Erin and Branch 234 in Guelph and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She held multiple offices including President of the L.A. She also served on the branch executive of 234 for the last 2 terms. Between Erin and Guelph she organized an annual Christmas Craft sale for the L.A. Her dedication to the Legion will be deeply missed.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staffs at Grand River Cancer Centre in Kitchener and the seventh floor of the Guelph General Hospital for the wonderful service they provided and especially the angels and volunteers at Hospice Wellington, who made the final journey for Janet with such Dignity and Grace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Guelph Legion, 57 Watson Pkwy. S. on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Memorial Donations to Hospice Wellington in Guelph in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated by the family.
