Known to some as “Stronzo” passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from complications related to diabetes. The night before his passing, in a moment of clarity, he talked of nothing but when he could go fishing again. I believe that’s exactly what he’s doing now.
Mike leaves behind his parents Guiseppe (Joe) D’Abbenigno and his mother Valerie Benn. He also leaves his sister, Jacquie D’Abbenigno, the Faienza family and special family friend Margaret Waldron. Mike was passionate about all of his friends and would have done anything for them.
Cremation has taken place. A drop-in celebration of Mike’s life will be held at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk Street, Guelph, on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Michael D’Abbenigno in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
