DARROCH, Alexander David

Posted

Alexander Darroch (1)

It is with a deep and heavy sadness that the family of Alexander David Darroch announce his passing in his 28th year, Saturday, November 3, 2018. Alex was deeply and truly loved and adored by his parents. Mike and Theresa, sister, Melissa, brother, Scott, and girlfriend Shelby and his dog, Ginger. He was beloved by his grandparents, Myrta (1993) and Howard Darroch of Atwood and Don and Betty Keonig of Seaforth. He will be forever missed by his cousins, aunts and uncles. It is especially heartbreaking to know that he will never again delight in play with his little cousins Bennett, Cora and Colton. Alex’s warmth and kindness to his friends and family was undeniable. His cooking skills provided delight and pleasure. His intelligence and depth of thinking led him to explore many ideas, often late in the evening when he and his mom were able to throw off the time constraints of the day and spend time together. Alex and his dad would discuss hockey and ponder the decisions made on the ice or by the coaches. Alex liked to read historical non-fiction and collect fossils and interesting rocks from whatever beach or locale he found himself in. He and Shelby found joy in exploring the Elora Gorge, wandering the river bank happily with Ginger. He was a big, big part of our world. Alex slipped away from us for reasons that his loved ones will never understand and he will be forever missed. Forever loved. Never forgotten.

Family and friends may visit at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Thursday, November 8th, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 pm. Memorial donations in Alex’s memory may be made to the Get In Touch For Hutch Foundation, The Upper Grand Learning Foundation or The Big Brothers Big Sister of Centre Wellington.
