 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing Lilian (Lil) Gladys Davies (Nee Pearson) in Cottage Pavilion Residential Care Abbotsford British Columbia on October 10, 2017, in her 92nd year

Born July 3, 1926 in East London England within earshot of Bow Bells, making her a true Cockney. She was the second child of the late William & Sophia Pearson.

Predeceased by her husband of nearly 62 years Frederick Davies & sons Brian & Alan.

Lilian is survived by her son Roy (Joanne) Davies, granddaughters Catherine (Michael) Merit & Janet Davies, great grandchildren Tyler & Megan Merit & Devyn Bell-Davies, all of Abbotsford British Columbia.

Lilian always the adventurer loved to travel with her soul mate Fred. Their first big adventure together was to immigrate to Canada in 1957, settling in Guelph Ontario. A long-time employee with Rockwell International & after her retirement in 1984, along with Fred, they became “snowbirds” spending their winters in warmer locales such as Texas, Florida, Cuba & Portugal.

To be closer to her family, in December 2015, Lilian completed her final adventure, relocating from a Guelph retirement home to one in Abbotsford British Columbia.

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Ontario on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 6 – 8 pm for a memorial visit. 

Internment with her husband Fred at Woodlawn Memorial Park 762 Woolwich Street Guelph, Ontario on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:30am.

The family would like to thank all the care professionals at Chartwell Wellington Park Retirement Home Guelph Ontario, Hallmark On The Park Retirement Home & Cottage Pavilion Residential Care Abbotsford British Columbia for the devoted love & support Lilian received in her later years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Lilan G. Davies in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
