Of Guelph, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Hospice Wellington Friday, September 30, 2016, in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband and best friend of 61 years to Marlene (nee Ord).
Loving father of Brenda (Roy) Wilkinson, Shelley (the late Iain/Scotty) Lothian, Darcel Bates (Gary Forrest) and Terry (Malena) Dennis.
Will be sadly missed by his 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Dear brother of Shirley Dennis.
Predeceased by twin sons Donald and Ronald, a sister Dorothy and a brother Alan. Doug will be fondly remembered by the Ord family.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 12 – 1 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.
Memorial contributions to the Hospice Wellington or Guelph Wish Fund for Children would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Douglas K. Dennis in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
