David Walter Edwards (Dave) of Mount Forest, in his 61st year, passed away on October 10, 2016 at Guelph General Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Beloved father of Ashely Kingsberry (Ben) of Queensland, Australia, Brandon Edwards (Chantelle Pronk) of Kitchener and Willow Van Raath-Edwards of Mount Forest. Dear brother of Julie McDermott (Michael) of Guelph. Treasured friend of Peggy Cheeseman and Odette Van Raath. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews. Along with his aunts, uncles and cousins of the Steinberg, Lorentz, Cruickshank, Edwards and Graf families. Predeceased by his parents Marjorie and Fred Edwards, his brother Wayne Edwards and his sister Jennie Edwards. Dave lived in Guelph for forty years before moving to Mount Forest. He was an auto body repairman; working for Suttons Steering Collision, before owning Edwards Collision. His family wishes to thank the nursing staff and doctors of the Intensive Care Unit at the Guelph General Hospital who worked hard to care for Dave during his stay.
Friends and family are invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, for visitation on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 11-12 p.m. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 12 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Private interment of ashes at Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital, ICU would be appreciated by the family.
