ELLIS, Peter John

ELLIS Peter John

Peter John Ellis, 78, went to be with his Lord and Saviour peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Guelph General Hospital in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Peter was absolutely devoted to his wife and three loving children. He was a father who always involved himself in every detail of his children's lives and supported, respected and loved his wife unconditionally. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love, beauty and peace that would await him after his passing.

Peter was born to the late Francis and Esther, a Pentecostal pastor and a homemaker respectively, in England on January 30, 1939. He spent his youth in Australia. He came to Toronto, Canada on his 20th year. He graduated at Toronto Bible College. He joined the army as an officer while in University of Toronto and met his wife. Peter was blessed with a loving family. He married Ursula on August 24, 1965 in Hamburg, Germany. Peter helped raise his three children with patience, discipline and humility in Fergus, Ontario. From the very beginning, he dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels. He spent 40 years working as a Real Estate Broker. All throughout his lifetime he was actively involved in church related activities, causes and local community charities.

Peter is survived by his wife, Ursula; his sons Francis, Henry (Alma) and daughter Miriam (Kevin). He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Aaron, Kimberly and Jordan. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26th from 5:00pm-7:30pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St S, Fergus. A celebration of God's goodness on Peter's life will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 10:30 am at the same location. Interment will follow at Belsyde Cemetery, Thistle St, Fergus, ON. A reception will follow at Wellington Room in the Funeral Home. Donations in the memory of Peter John Ellis to the Canadian Bible Society or to an orphanage in Kenya named Canaan Childrens Home supported by Ruth Thomson would be appreciated.
