Mrs. Liberata Fabiano passed away suddenly at the Hamilton General Hospital surrounded by family on Wednesday January 9, 2019 at 77 years of age.

Liberata was born in Chiaravalle Centrale, Provincia Catanzaro, Italy on September 29, 1941. She immigrated to Thunder Bay, Canada in 1966 and married Vincenzo in 1967. She worked tirelessly to raise her family and always provided love and support. Her greatest pleasures were spending time with her family, gardening, walking, and cooking.

In 2014, Liberata and Vincenzo moved to Guelph where she embraced her new life, making many personal connections. She was a friend to everyone and was happy to share her garden harvest with neighbours and friends. She was a helpful neighbour, devoted member of her congregation, and caring matriarch to her committed family.

Her passing is a great loss to anyone lucky enough to have known her. Liberata was the beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Fabiano (2015), loving mother of Maria (Rick) Wildeman of Mount Forest and Theresa (Scott) Langhorn of Elora. Proud and loved Nonna of Vanessa, Benjamin, Athena, and Aurora. Liberata will be sadly missed by her sister Antonia, brothers-in-law Vito (Chiara) Fabiano, Giuseppe (Giuseppina) Fabiano, sister-in-law Concetta Fabiano as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of Italy. In Thunder Bay, she is survived by her brother Pietro (Liberata) Garieri and family as well as many cousins and friends. In Guelph, she will be missed by her neighbours, friends, and congregation. Liberata was predeceased by her husband Vincenzo Fabiano, parents Domenico and Maria Teresa (Tino) Garieri, her in-laws Antonio and Maria (Piatro) Fabiano, her brother and sister-in-law Antonio and Chiara (Fabiano) Garieri, her brothers-in-law Francesco and Giovanni Fabiano and nephew Antonio Fabiano.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. and Entombment at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph, Ontario. If so desired, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family
