It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces Mary’s sudden passing at the Guelph General Hospital on Monday, August 26, 2019, in her 90th year. Of Guelph, formerly of Nichol Township and Grand Valley. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Fair (2014) and the late Alexander Brown (1980).
Loved mother of Kelli (Brad) Dixon, the late Jennifer Brown (1995), Susan (Russ) Spicer, Sandy (Sue) Fair, Paul (Val) Fair, Louise (Ken) Elder, Tom (Sheila) Fair, Alice (Bruce) VanAllen, and Jill (Vaughn) Ostland. Cherished grandma to 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Shirley Lostracco. Predeceased by siblings Gladys King, Elva Woods, Doris Irvine, Ruth Duncan, Verna Campbell and Leila Tupling.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Barrie Hill United Church on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11 am. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment Grand Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital, Barrie Hill United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Mary I. Fair in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
