It is with great sorrow that our family announces the peaceful passing of Orfeo Antonio Franco, in his 96th year.

Orfeo was a gentle, honest and kind man who dearly missed the true love of his life, his beloved Carmela, his wife of 54 years (2008). He will be sadly missed and forever in the heart of his daughter Diana. Nonno will be lovingly remembered by his grandsons Lani and Luke. Orfeo is now reunited with many family and friends who have passed before him, where he will forever enjoy Carmela's company and that of his mother Marianna (Nana) (1976) and his stepfather Primo Stradiotto (1975).

Orfeo was a wise yet very humble man who enjoyed the company of others, loved a good conversation and sharing stories of his life as a young man. He was a dedicated employee of Gilson Manufacturing for 28 years and worked as a caretaker for the Wellington County Public School Board, until his retirement. He was a talented accordionist, who shared his musical talents for many years, at many functions throughout Southern Ontario. He was an avid gardener and a self-taught handyman who spent many hours installing, fixing and painting around the house. As a car enthusiast, he demonstrated a natural talent when it came to repairing the family cars. He was a hard worker all his life and his work ethic has been an inspiration to all. His love and life were always devoted to the well-being of his family and his love has been greatly reciprocated.

Thank you to all who showed their compassion and visited as we journeyed through this difficult time. Your "being there" helped more than you know!

The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Wednesday January 24th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Orfeo will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph on Thursday January 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment, Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery.
