FRANGAKIS, Lynsey Alice (nee Nairn Hodgson)

Posted

Frangakis Lynsey MM2

Passed away on Wednesday January 3rd at Hospice Wellington, surrounded by her family, friends, and so much love.

Lynsey faced all 2,227 days of her war with cancer with more bravery than anyone could imagine, and faced the possibility of this day coming without flinching one bit. There was nothing that could stop Lyns from living her life to its absolute fullest. Even after her cancer diagnosis, life was lived- to its fullest.

Her spark, her way of living, and all that she accomplished will be incredibly missed by her husband Steve, beautiful daughter Aubrey Alice, parents Mary Nairn and Martin Hodgson, brother Tyler, aunts and uncle (Jean Verhagen, Janice and Ron Dickson), all the cousins and their children, and her many friends.

Lynsey’s family’s sincerest gratitude goes out to Drs. James Perry, Hani Soliman and NP Christina Mueller at Sunnybrook, her family Dr. Chris Stemerdink, her homecare nurses and PSWs, and the nurses, PSWs and staff of Hospice Wellington.

In Lynsey’s memory, donations to one (or more) of the following charities are appreciated:
- Young Adult Cancer Canada
- The Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research
- Hospice Wellington
Hospice will accept monetary donations or donated items. There will be a bin at the celebration for these items. See their wish list here: https://www.hospicewellington.org/get-involved/our-wish-list

Lynsey was unique and could not possibly be honoured properly in a traditional funeral. Because of this, a “Lynsey-fied Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, January 20th at 1:00pm at Cutten Fields, 190 College Ave E. Guelph.

Lynsey’s family invites all to join in celebration of this truly amazing life.

A tree will be planted in memory of Lynsey A. Frangakis in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
