Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Wellington Terrace, Elora on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Tom (2005). Much loved mother of Terri Bedford (Bill), Susan Ironside (Jim), John Gaskell (Anne), Tom Gaskell (Jean) and the late Tim Gaskell (Connie). Sadly missed by her grandchildren; Tracey Bedford (Dale Padley), Brad Bedford (Jodie Brown-Bedford) Jennifer Ironside, Leanne Ironside (Aaron Holley), Andrea deBoer-Jones (Greg), Joanne Bunnaman (Damian), Jill Aitchison (Rick), Deanna Arkell (Steve), Justine Gaskell (Jordan Smart), Kurtis Gaskell, Krista Gaskell, Chloe Gaskell, Jayme Watters (Matt), Jeff Gaskell (Claire Bruce-Turgeon) and great grandchildren; Roanan Padley, Abigail, Ayden and Kylie Bedford, Matthew English, Kara and Luke Holley, Isaac and Lucas Jones, Isabella and Braeden Bunnaman, Nicholas, Spencer and Hailey Aitchison, Tyler and Brodie Arkell, Whitney and Olivia Watters. Dear sister of Frank Meyer (Peg) and Wayne Meyer (Lynda) and sister-in-law of Jean Meyer. Predeceased by her brothers Laverne and Raymond. Doreen, alongside her husband, Tom, will be remembered for having operated Gaskell Radio and TV for over 53 years and were also well known in the Standardbred horse industry where they owned and operated Boothill Farms. The family extends a grateful thanks to the caring staff at Wellington Terrace who provided such thoughtful, compassionate care to Doreen over the years. A private funeral service was held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph and burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
