GOY, Richard Earl (Rick)

Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, August 5, 2018, in his 70th year. 
Rick was an amazing person. His life was an inspiration, not only for people with physical disabilities, but for everyone – young and old - struggling with life’s challenges. His positive attitude, courage, determination, sharp intellect and sense of humour helped him turn the limitations and frustrations of his quadriplegic life into a purposeful journey. Throughout his life he worked extremely hard and especially when he was a tutor at the University of Guelph where he mentored students of all walks of life. Rick left an indelible mark on many people and he will be greatly missed. 
Dear brother of Greg (Mary Lou), Keith, Karen (Garry) Seifried. Loved uncle of Jennifer, Christopher, Jeffery, Lauren and Kate. Will be sadly missed by his special friends Barbara Kedzior and Jim Scannell. Special thanks to Jennifer Lynn, Nadia, Beth, Brenda and the many others who provided care and support to Rick over the years. Predeceased by his loving parents Earl and Doreen Goy, and his brother Jeff. 
A Celebration and Remembrance honoring Rick Goy will take place on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at the Springfield Golf and Country Club, 2054 Gordon Street, Guelph, Ontario. website: www.springfieldgolf.ca 
Family and friends are invited to register at 2:00 pm near the Pines and Spikes rooms, a sharing of remembrances will commence at 3:00 pm and the Celebration will close at 5:00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
