Grenn, Harlod Harvey

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Harvey Harold Grenn, D.V.M., peacefully on August 13th, 2016, in Arthur, Ontario. He was born in Red Deer, Alberta on January 20th, 1935, son of the late Murray and Bessie Grenn. Harvey is survived by his son John and his wife Anna, granddaughter Isis and daughter-in-law Annette Voss-Lake. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Grenn and by his brother Akiva Greenburg.

Harvey graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and practised for several years in Agincourt, Ontario, before moving his family to Guelph to join the Pathology Department at the University of Guelph as a Clinical Pathologist accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

He was a member of the Governing Council, then President, and then Registrar of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. Harvey also served as President of the Kiwanis Club of Guelph. He spent his later years enjoying the winters at his home in Crystal River, Florida.

Harvey loved skiing with his sons at Georgian Peaks in Thornbury and teaching them to sail the waters of Lake Belwood. He was a fun-loving, caring and intelligent man who will be missed.

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph (entrance off Woolwich St.) at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. If you wish, donations in Harvey’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
