Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the age of 86 years.  Loving husband of Joan for 30 years.  Brother of David (Bev) of California. Dear father of Jim (Deborah) Lloyd (Luann) and step-father of Lee (Fred) of The Netherlands and Paul (Chris).  Grandfather of Michael, Teresa, Richard, Rick, Tyler, Tiffany, Daryl, Courtney, Aranea and Keith.  Great Grandfather of 16 children.  Pre-deceased by his mother Elsie, brother Erwin and sister Jean.
Bob served Canada’s Armed Forces, in the Navy from 1950 through 1954 aboard the HMCS Magnificent – as an air frame mechanic for the Sea Fury and Harvard platforms.  Upon release from the Navy, Bob worked at Avro Aircraft in Malton Ontario – on the ill fated Arrow program.  Served the people of Guelph as a policeman from December 1958 until his retirement in January 1985 – taking on roles of constable, plain clothes constable, Juvenile Bureau as well as a term in the Identification Department.
Bob liked to travel, and upon his retirement ventured to the South Pacific to tour Australia, Fiji and New Zealand – and traveled extensively with Joan to Madeira and Holland many times.
Bob was also good with his hands–wood being his medium. From the addition at the original family home on Speedvale Ave. to the house on Hwy 7 , to the home on Paul Ave., they all had seen Bob’s handiwork. Furniture, enhancements, you name it he could build it.  In his later years, he would build wooden toys, many of them, of which his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many others  still enjoy to this day.
Will be dearly missed by all that knew him ……………. RIP Dad
