GUIRGUIS, Fakhri Younan Ghali

Went to be with His Lord and Saviour on August 15, 2017 in his 68th year, surrounded by his family. He was the dearest husband of Mary for 38 years. Dearly loved and cherished father of Sylvia and Lidia. Dear brother of Sanaa (Lawrance) and Mervat (Ramzy) and late brother, Ernest (Marcel) of Egypt. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Fakhri was a professional Engineer, having graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1973 and his Master’s degree in 1978. He worked at the Ministry of Electricity in Cairo until he immigrated to Canada in 1988. In Canada, he worked at Babcock & Wilcox for 15 years then at multiple nuclear power generation stations in Pickering, Bruce and Chalk River, until his retirement. He loved to spend time with his family, friends and traveling. Family will receive friends at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, at 1099 Gordon St, Guelph for visitation on Friday, August 18 from 6pm-9pm. The funeral will be held at St. Philopater Mercurius Coptic Orthodox Church, at 40 Wilbert St, Guelph on Saturday, August 19 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to St. Philopater Mercurius Coptic Orthodox Church or Gideon’s International of Canada.
