Growing up in Guelph, where Emily attended Laurin Avenue P.S, King George, John F Ross and Centennial CVI, she was not only was an outstanding student but also was excellent at public speaking and music. She won numerous provincial awards in these fields, graduating high school with honours and as class valedictorian. She continued her academic excellence in University where she earned her B.A, M.A and B.Ed from Guelph, McMaster and U of T. It was in university where she met Ted, the love of her life. She then started her teaching career and excelled in the same outstanding fashion. She was one of the best, well organized and most respected teachers at Meadowvale High School. When Ted’s health declined, she was a tremendous source of support while still teaching. She retired from the job she loved earlier this year to be a full time caregiver for her  91 year old father. Sadly, it all ended suddenly on November 23rd.
