Hagar June MM

Passed away peacefully following a stroke at the Guelph General Hospital on December 17, 2018 at the age of 92. June was married to the late Aubrey Hagar (2017) for 70 years. They enjoyed a wonderful life together that included travel throughout North America and Europe, camping, playing golf and bridge, curling and entertaining friends and family.

Respected for her kindness and generosity, June dedicated much of her life to volunteering. Organizations that benefitted from her time and energy include the Canadian Health Association, Big Sisters, First Baptist Church and the Canadian Cancer Society, among many others. She was also committed to helping the sick and elderly, driving them to appointments or dropping by to visit and bring cookies.

Her unending thoughtfulness was felt most by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she played a huge part in their upbringing. June dedicated each day of her life to helping and caring for others.

She was admired for her skills as a gracious hostess, excellent cook and decorator. Throughout her life, June was positive, pleasant and constantly grateful even in difficult times.

June is predeceased by three siblings, Stuart, Ken and Jack Roberts, and her first grandson, Nathan Healey. She is survived by her sister, Joy Hill, children Jeff (Wendy), Pam (Larry), Blair (Gunta, who brought two children and three grandchildren into the family) and five grandchildren – Deirdre (Shawn), Conor (Rachel), Matthew (Jodie), Meghan (Dan) and Sarah Jane (Reuben). These wonderful grandchildren enriched June’s life with 13 great grandchildren.
