With great sadness the family of Shirley Jean Harkies announce her passing at Guelph General Hospital on Friday, November 24, 2017, at age 87 years. She was the loving mother of Bonnie (Dave) McCuen, Bob and Bryan and daughter-in-law of Debbie. Shirley dearly loved her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bill (1982), by her son Bill (2010), by her daughter Barbara (2017) and Barbara’s husband Tony (2006) Camilleri. Shirley will be missed by her friends at 387 Waterloo Ave., who shared playing many games of bingo with her.
At Shirley’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, Guelph.
