HASTINGS, George Wesley

Passed away peacefully on September 8 2018 at the age of 88 at Groves Memorial Hospital. Loving Uncle of Gord (Kathy) McDonald of Fergus, Marilyn (Will) Schoenemann of New Hamburg, Glen (Mary) McDonald of Mount Brydges, Murray (Joan) McDonald of Toronto and Karen (Rene) Juraschka of Freelton. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends. Predeceased by his sister Doris and her husband Ivan McDonald.
George worked at GSW in Fergus for 48 years. In retirement, he spent his time tending to his lawn and gardens. He enjoyed time with family and friends and a good conversation about cars.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00pm and on Tuesday, September 11,2018 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St South, Fergus. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Interment at Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus.
The family would like to extend their most sincere appreciation to the staff of Groves Memorial Hospital for their dedicated care of George over these past months.
