Holmes Peggy use
With great sadness, our family announces the passing of Peggy Holmes, who left us peacefully on November 6, 2018 in her 85th year.  Cherished wife of 60 years to Bill. Deeply loved mother of Cathy Nadalin (John), Dale Holmes, and Kelly Holmes (Lawrence Stewart). Adoring Grandma to Sara, Kayla, Emily and Lorcan. Peggy leaves behind her brother Dale Roeder (Marion), her friend and sister-in-law Helen Near, her sisters-in-law Joan McEnery, Jean Hall, her long time, devoted friend, Esther Gawlik and many other loved family members and friends. She is predeceased by her brothers Tommy and Warren Roeder.  Peggy was born and raised on Victoria St. in Kitchener within a loving family. After working for McBrine Luggage and the Queen’s Restaurant, she married and later moved to Guelph where she raised her family and worked for Woolwich Lodge and Pennington’s. Peggy will be remembered for her dedication to family, sweet and patient nature, generosity and love of music. For the past five years, Peggy lived with the devastating effects of dementia. Her last four years were spent in the care of St. Joseph’s Health Centre, where her husband joined her one year ago.  We are eternally grateful to the staff of 4 North, Cindy, Tanya, and Peggy’s personal companions, Pam, Laura, Maria and Kelli for their compassionate and dignified care of Peggy.  A celebration of Peggy’s life will take place at GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Monday, November 12 at 12:00 p.m.  There will be an informal memorial visitation for one hour prior to the service (from 11 a.m. -12 p.m.). We will then share stories of Peggy over a light lunch.  In recognition of Peggy’s great love for her grandchildren, please consider a donation to the Children's Foundation of Guelph & Wellington or the Guelph Food Bank.
