JOHNSON, Rev. Benjamin Robert Clark

Posted

Johnson Ben s by s MM
Passed away on September 2, 2021 at 90 years of age.

Loving and devoted husband of Nancy (nee Millar), married for 60 years.

Gentle and loving father of Mark (Keri) and Lynne (Kevin). Cherished grandfather to Taylor, Braden, Evan and Jenna. Fondest brother of George (late Eleanor), Sylvia (late Grant), Dorette (Gene) and Paul (Joan). Loved by many nieces and nephews.

As a result of his church attendance, involvement, and a leadership role in youth activities with the United Church in Hamilton, Ben felt a call to serve God and was ordained into ministry with the United Church of Canada in 1964. He served charges in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario culminating in 21 years of service at Paisley Memorial United Church in Guelph.  Ben’s service to God through his pastoral care was his greatest strength, the people are the church and Ben’s calming ministry helped young and old over almost four decades.

Among Ben’s many interests and activities he was a decorated athlete, avid reader, war historian, stamp collector and curler. One of his greatest pleasures was his family. He was our Gentle Ben, his noble soul is now with God.
