Henry William Kanis, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born on October 5, 1929 in Burlington, Ontario.
He is survived by his loving wife Joanne (of 60 years); children Darlene (Gus), Henry (Nazan), and Dale (Alison); brothers William (Patricia), Edward (Trudy), and Alfred (Jenny); grandchildren Tonia, Eric, Dayna, Gabrielle, Shelby, and Tristin; great grandchildren Autumn-Rose and Blane. His passion was his family and enjoyed being in their presence. He had a heart of gold and a genuine twinkle in his eyes. His quick wit and sense of humour will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 18th, 2016 from 12:30-2:30 at Wall Custance Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Hankinson House Hospice/St. Joseph’s Life Care Center.
A tree will be planted in memory of Henry Wm. Kanis in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
