Posted

Knight

Born March 27th, 1942 -

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we share the sudden unexpected passing of John Knight on December 28th, 2021. Loving husband to Nancy. Beloved father to Robin, Kim, John (Alexandra), and Penny (Martin) Rundle.

Proud and cherished grandpa to Jillian, Brandon, Alyssia, Shanice, Melissa, Victoria, Lyndsay, Andrew, and John Carlos. He was a loved poppa to ten great grandchildren, and uncle to many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by his mother and father, Gordon and Margaret Knight, and in-laws Francis and Verna Keleher. Dear brother to Ken (Edna), Wayne (Sandy), Larry (Dianne), and Linda (Chris) Archer.

Brother-in-law to Francis Devris,Wendy, Peter and Brian Keleher. Predeceased by brother-in-laws, and best friends, George and David Keleher.

Married to Nancy for 55 years, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, poppa, and friend. There is no question that John was a true family man. He was the #1 fan and rarely missed a grandchild’s sporting event or dance recital.

John was one of the original owners of Red Top Taxi and proudly served his community as “Car 14” for 30 years. However, his retirement did not end there as at a moment's notice, he would be there to drive anyone who needed it. He always joked that driving was ‘his best position’. John and Nancy retired out to Mini Lakes and John enjoyed his nightly clubs, including poker, euchre, crib, darts, pool, and bocce ball. He loved his happy hours with his neighbours. He was always out on his golf cart with his loyal dog Bailey by his side.

John was an antique collector, fisherman, coach, and umpire and met many cherished friends doing the things he loved.

John was a kind, gentle soul with a contagious laugh that brought joy to everyone who knew him.
